Coupe de France : Lens d’Abdallah Sima en finale
Four days after their league match, Abdallah Sima's Lens and Pape Demba Diop's Toulouse met in the semi-finals of the Coupe de France. The match once again went in favor of Lens, who won convincingly (4-1).
Led by French international Florian Thauvin, Lens quickly took the lead in this semi-final. The 2018 World Cup winner opened the scoring in the 9th minute from the penalty spot, following a foul by Pape Demba Diop. Allan Saint-Maximin doubled the lead in the 18th minute.
Despite Hidalgo pulling a goal back (21st minute), Lens regained the lead with a third goal scored by Matthieu Udol (35th minute). In the second half, Lens captain Adrien Thomasson sealed the victory by scoring the fourth goal in the 74th minute.
Thanks to this great victory, Lens qualifies for the final and will challenge the winner of the other semi-final, which will pit Strasbourg against OGC Nice featuring Yehvann Diouf and Antoine Mendy.
