Ligue 1 française : mauvaise nouvelle pour Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly
FC Metz endured a difficult evening in their 1-0 defeat against Stade Rennais. Beyond the home loss, it was Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly's injury that drew the most attention. The 26-year-old Senegalese striker, who had become a key player in Stéphane Le Mignan's system, had to leave the pitch prematurely.
Starting the match, Sabaly only lasted 19 minutes before being substituted, visibly hampered by persistent ankle pain. The player showed signs of discomfort from the opening minutes, preventing him from continuing the game.
While the Metz coach tried to sound reassuring after the match, this scare comes at a delicate time. With just 23 days until the start of the Africa Cup of Nations, this injury is already causing concern among the Lions' supporters.
