Guardiola et Manchester City, c’est la fin ?
The 55-year-old coach is reportedly getting closer and closer to leaving at the end of the season.
Pep Guardiola's future at Manchester City could be uncertain. According to information revealed by David Ornstein on Sky Sports, there is a strong possibility that the Spanish manager will leave the club at the end of the season. Although he recently extended his contract for two more years, even internally, the Citizens' management initially expected a one-year commitment. The two-year extension would therefore have been a way to "buy time" and protect Guardiola from excessive pressure.
According to Ornstein, this strategy hasn't been entirely successful, however, as Manchester City has already begun discussions with several potential successors. This is a clear sign that the club is preparing for a possible departure as early as next summer, despite the possibility that Guardiola will see out his contract. After nearly a decade marked by a string of titles and near-total dominance in the Premier League, the end of the Guardiola era seems to be approaching, paving the way for a major transition in the Sky Blues' recent history.
