Habib Bèye à l’OM ? : Une chroniqueuse de l'Équipe du Soir foncièrement contre
Recently dismissed from his position at Stade Rennais, Habib Bèye is rumored to be taking over as manager of Olympique de Marseille, along with Sergio Conceição and Eric Chelle, the current coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles. It remains to be seen which of these three managers will be chosen by OM's management to succeed Roberto de Zerbi.
On television, sports commentators don't hesitate to voice their opinions about these coaches. This was evident, for example, yesterday, Thursday, on the show L'Equipe du Soir.
Olivier Ménard's guests were almost unanimous in their opinion that Mr. Bèye was not the right man for the job at OM. Laure Lepailleur, a commentator on the show, was particularly opposed to the possible appointment of the Senegalese coach to head Olympique de Marseille.
"He didn't manage his dressing room well in Rennes."
"Habib Bèye (in Marseille) is a joke," the former footballer declared. For her, Marseille is a "rather unusual club" and Habib Bèye is "a very inexperienced coach" to be in charge.
Moreover, he "did not control his dressing room at Rennes, and that was one of the problems, when we saw the various exclusions, especially recently, (Brice) Samba," the columnist points out.
She is therefore convinced that Mr. Bèye "is not at all the right man for the job".
