Habib Bèye et l’OM, c’est terminé, selon Nabil Djellit

Will Habib Bèye remain as manager of Olympique de Marseille (OM) next season? For Nabil Djellit, the answer is "no." The commentator for the "L'Équipe" channel is convinced that the Senegalese coach will leave.

The new sporting director "will surround himself with people he wants to work with."

"For me, it's over. Why? Because there's a new president. There's going to be a new sporting director. When you're in football, when a new sporting director arrives, it's like in the business world; he's going to surround himself with people he wants to work with and unless he's a fan and wants to work with Habib Bèye (he's going to choose people) with whom he'll be coordinated," said the employee of "France Football" magazine.

He points out that Mehdi Benatia, the sporting director who brought Habib Bèye to OM, is leaving. The former Rennes coach will therefore no longer have much support, unless he has a spectacular end to the season by winning the last four matches by large margins, asserts the sports journalist, who doesn't really believe this scenario is likely.

“Personally, I get the impression that he’s more of a man trying to limit the damage, because the situation is so catastrophic that we don’t know if it’s ‘Survivor’ in the locker room. In any case, there are players who are no longer there, who have already called the moving truck because they know they are not going to stay… In my opinion, they are going to turn the page and move on to something else,” said Nabil Djellit.

"For him, the best thing is to qualify the team for the Champions League, in terms of his personal standing."

He hopes the Senegalese coach will end on a high note for his credibility. "The best thing for him is to qualify the team for the Champions League, in terms of his personal standing, his standing as a coach. He's someone who is heavily criticized, perhaps a little disproportionately," said the Franco-Algerian sports journalist.

L'OM a ses problèmes depuis longtemps et à les entendre parler d'habib beye c'est comme si il est à l'origine du problème or il essaie juste de limiter la casse
