Habib Bèye, raconte ce que Pape Diouf lui disait à propos de l'OM
Habib Bèye held his first press conference this Thursday morning as the coach of Olympique de Marseille. The Senegalese manager appeared relaxed and smiling. He calmly answered the journalists' questions.
One of them wanted to know if he would try, like his predecessor, to embody the image of the club by having a fiery temperament, or if he would try to bring back some calm and serenity.
"You know, Habib, when the fire burns in Marseille..."
The former Rennes coach pointed out that he doesn't have the same personality as Roberto De Zerbi. He then revealed what Pape Diouf told him about the club's "volatile" side.
“I remember someone very dear to me, and I thought of him yesterday when I signed. It’s Pape Diouf, who always told me: ‘You know, Habib, when the fire burns in Marseille, sometimes you have to let it burn because it will extinguish itself.’ And in fact, that’s a little bit what this club is like. It stirs up emotions, but you have to be able to remain cool, calm, and serene in the face of those emotions. You have to calm this atmosphere, which will remain volatile no matter what,” the Senegalese player said.
