Habib Beye pressenti à l’OM :un ancien international Sénégalais appelle à la prudence
The possibility of Habib Beye taking over as manager of Olympique de Marseille continues to generate discussion in the football world. Souleymane Diawara, a former defender for the Marseille club and a former teammate of the Senegalese coach on the national team, shared his analysis on RMC radio, expressing reservations about Beye's immediate arrival in Marseille.
While he has no doubt about his compatriot's human and technical qualities, Diawara believes the timing might not be ideal. "Habib has the shoulders to handle the pressure at OM, I'm convinced of it. He knows the club perfectly, he played there, he was captain, he loves OM and the fans appreciate him enormously," he emphasized.
However, the former Senegalese international defender points out that the transition from playing to coaching multiplies the demands. "When you were a player, it's one thing. But becoming a coach in Marseille is twice the pressure. He has the ability, but at this particular point in the season, I don't know if he's the right man for the job. Isn't it still too soon for him?" he wondered.
A measured statement that reflects the doubts of some of the Olympian supporters, torn between attachment to an emblematic figure of the club and the fear of rushing things for a young coach still in the building phase.
