"Ce serait pire qu'un crime" : Les avocats de la fédération mettent formellement en garde la CAF sur un point essentiel
Following the deliberation of the Appeals Committee of the Confederation of African Football on March 17, the Senegalese Football Federation is still waiting for the reasoned decision to be officially notified to it.
“ The regulations are clear: they must notify the parties of the reasoned decision the same day, during the night, 20 minutes after notification of the decision. The Secretary General asked CAF to notify the reasons. It has now been nine days since we received the decision. We have a brief to file, to argue our case; we need the reasons for the decision. But the lawyers will take care of it , ” warns Seydou Diagne, coordinator of the FSF lawyers’ collective.
He and his colleagues were keen to warn the CAF: " Our national federation is issuing a warning to those responsible for drafting the decision, who are having immense difficulty doing so after a hasty trial, and ten days later they still can't manage to draft it. We are asking them not to change the provisions under any circumstances, especially this new point in the decision, since we already have it. That would be worse than a crime. It would be forgery and use of forged documents in front of the entire world , " the lawyer warned.
The lawyer clarified that Senegal will not accept such a deception: " We will not accept being notified of another court decision to tell us that there is a point ten or a point nine bis, as forgers sometimes do, to say 'finally, we notified you on March 17 of a decision where we did not ask you to return the trophy, but we deliberated again, give us back the trophy' . "
Mr. Seydou Diagne clarifies that they have the decision in both English and French. And in neither decision is there any request for the return of the trophy, let alone any measure crowning or even declaring Morocco the African champion.
