Italie: Naples désarçonné par le Torino
Napoli suffered their second defeat of the season on Saturday at Torino (1-0), opening the door for AS Roma, who, facing Inter Milan in the evening, can take sole possession of first place in the Italian Championship.
The defending champions lost to a goal from a former player, the Argentinian Giovanni Simeone, who recovered a poor clearance in the penalty area and went through the entire Napoli defense, before beating Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, Toro's goalkeeper until this summer.
Deprived in the last minute of Scott McTominay, Serie A's best player last season, and Rasmus Hojlund, and since the start of the season of Romelu Lukaku, Napoli waited until the hour mark to take the lead, but without converting, as Kevin De Bruyne narrowly missed the target (67th), and a goal in added time was disallowed by VAR for offside.
Napoli suffered their first defeat of the season (2-1) and lost their only points so far at San Siro on Matchday 5 against AC Milan, who were reduced to ten men.
AS Roma, with 15 points like Naples, can move into the lead alone in the event of a draw or a victory at the Olympic Stadium against Inter (4th, 12 pts).
For its part, Torino, thanks to this second success of the season, jumped from 16th to 13th place (8 pts).
