This Wednesday, at the Palace of the Republic, the Head of State Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye informed the Council of Ministers of his inspection visit to the progress of the construction sites and infrastructure for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), carried out on March 1, 2026.

Following this, "he asked the Minister of Infrastructure to conduct an assessment of the progress of the various projects." President Faye also stressed the need to address the urgent issues related to their timely completion.

In addition, the Head of State emphasizes the importance he attaches to improving the living environment in the host communities, particularly accelerating development and the construction of access roads to the competition and accommodation sites, located in the municipalities of Diamniadio and Saly Portudal, in particular.

However, last November, during a cabinet meeting, the President of the Republic also provided an update on the preparations for the Youth Olympic Games. "He announced that on November 2, 2025, he had conducted an inspection visit to assess the progress of the construction sites for the accommodation facilities and sports buildings intended to house the athletes and other participants. In this context, he asked the government, the Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee, and the relevant public and private entities to take the necessary preventative measures and appropriate steps to ensure that all the infrastructure is completed on time and under the best possible conditions in terms of quality, safety, and sustainability," the document stated.

The Youth Olympic Games will take place in Dakar, Senegal from October 31 to November 13, 2026.

Avec toutes les sorties matinales et video du ministre dethie fall, ne me dites pas qu'un point d'avancement precis et quotidien n'est pas disponible et tenu a jour.! Un suivi rigoureux selon des indicateurs precis s'avere plus efficace que les visites a 06h00 du matin!!!
