Joueurs les mieux payés en Premier League : une star africaine occupe la 2e place
The Premier League confirms its status as the most lucrative league in Europe. Every season, football stars are lured there with staggering contracts, commensurate with the sporting and media demands of English football. According to a ranking recently published by The Sun, the salary hierarchy in England remains dominated by the biggest names.
Unsurprisingly, Erling Haaland sits atop the list. The Manchester City striker earns approximately €614,000 per week, confirming his status as the highest-paid player in the league. Just behind him, African star Mohamed Salah occupies second place with an estimated weekly salary of €468,000 while playing for Liverpool.
The podium is completed by Portuguese international Bruno Fernandes, a key player for Manchester United, who reportedly earns nearly €409,500 per week. The top five continues with Bukayo Saka at Arsenal (€351,000) and Reece James at Chelsea (€292,500).
Beyond this elite group of five, salaries remain impressive across the league as a whole. Some key players at less high-profile clubs also enjoy very comfortable contracts, reflecting their sporting importance and market value. According to the same source, Morgan Gibbs-White and Granit Xhaka each earn around €129,000 per week, while João Gomes at Wolves earns approximately €123,000. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, for his part, is reportedly paid €117,000 per week.
Finally, clubs like Burnley and Brentford also feature in this ranking of high salaries: Kyle Walker at the Clarets, as well as Jordan Henderson and Mikkel Damsgaard with the Bees, reportedly earn around 88,000 euros per week.
This is further proof that, more than ever, the Premier League remains the realm of XXL contracts, with an African star firmly established at the top of this financial elite.
