The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne issued four decisions this Thursday morning confirming the election of Tahir Hassan as president of the Chadian Football Federation (FTFA), resulting from the contested election of March 2025.
Represented by Senegalese lawyer Moustapha Kamara, the president-elect thus saw his legitimacy fully recognized after several months of legal battles. The appeals filed by candidates Moctar and Foullah, who contested the regularity of the electoral process, were all rejected by the highest sports court.
This CAS decision marks the end of a long crisis within Chadian football and allows the FTFA to turn the page on a turbulent period. It also confirms the growing expertise of Senegalese experts in the field of international sports law.
Last September, Mr. Kamara distinguished himself by successfully defending the new president of the Nigerien Football Federation before the same court. A lawyer at the Marseille bar, specializing in sports law, Moustapha Kamara is also known for his involvement in Senegalese football, as president of Coton Sport of Tambacounda.
Thanks to this new victory, the Senegalese lawyer consolidates his reputation as an indispensable expert in African sports cases brought before the CAS.
