L’entraîneur de Monaco défend ses Lions : « Pour moi, ce sont toujours des champions »
On the eve of AS Monaco's trip to Lyon, scheduled for this Sunday (3pm) in Ligue 1, the Monegasque coach Sébastien Pocognoli wanted to show his support for his Senegalese internationals, Krépin Diatta and Lamine Camara.

Both crowned African champions in 2025 with Senegal before ultimately being stripped of their title by CAF in favor of Morocco, the two players can count on the full support of their coach.
In a press conference, Sébastien Pocognoli did not hide his pride: "For me, they are still my champions. I think Krépin and Lamine share this feeling. Everything that happens off the field is beyond our control. But it hasn't affected them too much."
The Belgian coach also emphasized the sporting aspect above all else: "Whatever happens, there will always be debates about the why and the how. But these matches had to be played and won. We are very proud of their journey. In the end, sporting merit is what counts."
Despite the controversy surrounding this decision, the Monaco coach wants to reassure everyone about his players' state of mind: "The most important thing is that they remain focused on their performances with Monaco."
