Ligue 1 (20e journée) : La Linguère accrochée par Dakar Sacré-Cœur
After an encouraging draw against US Gorée (0-0) on the last day, Linguère de Saint-Louis hoped to win at home against Dakar Sacré-Cœur in order to get out of the red zone.
Urged on by their home crowd, the Saint-Louis team started the match well. In the 17th minute, young striker Ousseynou Ly opened the scoring. Dominant throughout, Samba Linguère controlled possession and created several chances. Before the half-hour mark, center-forward Babacar Gaye doubled the lead (25th minute). Sharp and efficient, Linguère went into halftime with a two-goal advantage.
But in the second half, the home side completely lost their way. Defender Pape Djibril Guèye scored an own goal, giving Dakar Sacré-Cœur a lifeline (62nd minute).
Galvanized by this goal, the visitors managed to equalize five minutes later. In the 67th minute, Souleymane Touré capitalized on errors by the Saint-Louis defense to score Dakar Sacré-Cœur's second goal.
In the end, the two teams drew (2-2). A frustrating result for Linguère, who missed the opportunity to move away from the relegation zone.
