Ligue 1 : L’AS Monaco fait une annonce forte pour Paul Pogba
AS Monaco coach Adi Hütter made a big announcement this Friday afternoon regarding Paul Pogba's Ligue 1 debut this season.
Having been in training since his arrival this summer, Paul Pogba is surely getting closer to a return to competition. AS Monaco coach Adi Hütter has mentioned a possible appearance as early as Sunday in the derby against OGC Nice, on the occasion of the seventh day of Ligue 1.
However, the Austrian coach is banking more on the French midfielder's presence after the international break. Hütter believes the 32-year-old French international may be ready for the trip to Angers on October 18.
"Everyone can see that he's doing more and more with the team. Our goal was perhaps to have him in the squad for the match against Nice, but it's a bit early," explained the former Borussia Mönchengladbach coach on Friday. Paul Pogba is therefore expected to return after the international break.
"I hope he'll be in the squad. Maybe 10-15 minutes if he can handle full sessions," added the 55-year-old tactician, stressing the importance of assessing the 2018 World Champion in real conditions before fully integrating him into the match rhythm.
"Does he do full sessions? No, not yet. I want to see him in a match situation," Adi Hütter said. "He's intelligent in the game, but I need to know how he feels tactically, his movements, his running ability, his power on the pitch, in the fight," explained the AS Monaco mentor .
