The Ngor stadium was buzzing this Sunday for the clash of the second round of Ligue 1, between US Ouakam and ASC Jaraaf of Dakar. A highly anticipated derby, played in an electric atmosphere and marked by a tense finish.

From early afternoon, the atmosphere was electric around the Ngor stadium. Supporters from both sides flooded the surrounding area with their drums and flags, singing and chanting. The atmosphere was festive, befitting the match.

The match kicked off at 5 p.m. with an enterprising US Ouakam side. In the 13th minute, Pape Mbaye Ba thought he had opened the scoring, but his shot rebounded off the Jaraaf crossbar. Alassane Ndoye also missed a clear opportunity (36th minute), before Djiby Ndoye scored in the 47th minute, but the referee disallowed it for a controversial position. This led to two interruptions of the match due to protests and unrest around the pitch.

Despite several opportunities, including a big chance in the 61st minute, Ouakam failed to capitalize.

The coaches are trying to force the issue. In the 63rd minute, Pape Ba, Mamadou Soumaré, Mactar Koïta, and Moussa Diallo come on for Jaraaf. For US Ouakam, Pape Mbaye Ba is replaced by Abdourahmane Mané Diaw in the 69th minute. In the 77th minute, Ameth Niang and Abdoulaye Faty replace Abdoulaye and Naby Laye Souma for Jaraaf.

Dominant throughout, the Ouakam team were rewarded in stoppage time. In the 93rd minute, Djiby Ndoye sent the entire stadium into raptures by scoring the winning goal. The Ouakam crowd erupted in joy.

But the celebration was short-lived. At the end of the match, incidents broke out: a pitch invasion, projectiles thrown, and the use of tear gas by law enforcement. Several journalists and supporters panicked, some falling to the ground in the confusion.
