Ligue 1 sénégalaise : Ibrahima Diakhaté nommé nouvel entraîneur de l’AS Camberéne
Newly promoted to the Senegalese Ligue 1, AS Camberéne is experiencing a very difficult start to the season. Currently second-to-last in the standings, the Lébou club has decided to make changes to its coaching staff in an attempt to climb out of the relegation zone.
In a press release, the management of ASC Camberéne officially announced the appointment of Ibrahima Diakhaté as head coach. The 38-year-old holds a B driving license, a First Degree Diploma (2013-2015), and a C license (2011-2012).
A former goalkeeper for Linguère de Saint-Louis, Ibrahima Diakhaté already has considerable experience on the Senegalese sidelines. He notably managed Mbour Petite-Côte (MPC) during their victorious 2024 Senegalese Cup campaign. Prior to that, he also coached Stade de Mbour, whom he led to promotion to Ligue 1 in 2022.
With this appointment, AS Camberéne hopes to inject new energy into its team and secure its place in the top flight. As a reminder, Ibrahima Diakhaté was the coach of AS Kaffrine at the start of the season before resigning due to poor results.
