Liste des Lions : «De nouveaux visages» annoncés
National coach Pape Thiaw is expected to release the squad for the Lions' final qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup this Thursday (Matchdays 7 and 8). Currently in France, the coach will use the FSF's digital platforms to reveal his squad.
According to journalist Pape Ousmane Kassé, there will be some changes compared to last June's list. "According to my information, the coach [...] in his desire to bring more quality to the team, [will call up] new faces in defense and attack, the midfield being already rich in competitive talent," informs the Match360 journalist, quoted by Record.
Absent from last June's training camp, Sadio Mané and Pape Matar Sarr are expected to return. However, doubts remain for Krépin Diatta (Monaco) and Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea), who were in the squad that beat England (3-1) and drew with Ireland (1-1), but are not playing for their respective clubs in this resumption of European championships.
