Liste du Nigeria pour la CAN 2025 :  Moffi et Boniface zappés, quatre novices retenus

Nigeria's Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, announced his squad on Thursday for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. OGC Nice player Terem Moffi is absent due to illness following an incident with fans. However, star player Victor Osimhen and winger Moses Simon are included in the squad.

Having narrowly missed out on the title against Ivory Coast in 2023, the Super Eagles have won the tournament three times: 1980, 1994, and 2013. They will come into this 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held from December 21 to January 18, with a strong case to make. Eric Chelle, the Franco-Malian coach, has announced a 28-man squad, notably missing Terem Moffi and Victor Boniface.

Terem Moffi, under fire from Nice supporters after a match in Lorient, is currently on sick leave. With 19 caps and 4 goals to his name, his last appearance was on October 14th when he played 2 minutes against Benin.

Despite Moffi's absence, Victor Osimhen, who has scored 31 goals in 46 appearances, will be included. Moses Simon, another key player, is also in the squad, as is Chodozie Awazeim of FC Nantes, despite his current struggles. Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, who was initially doubtful due to injury, will be available. Furthermore, four new players have been called up to the team: Usman Muhammed, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Tochukwu Nnadi, and striker Salim Fago Lawal, all of whom will have the opportunity to make their mark. Drawn in Group C, Nigeria will face Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda.
