Lutte : la saison prolongée
The 2024-2025 wrestling season, initially scheduled to end on July 31, has been extended until August 24. According to Le Soleil, citing the president of the National Management Committee (CNG), Malick Ngom, this decision follows the request of promoters penalized by the suspension of competitions following the violence in the arena.
The National Police had in fact announced, on February 18, the suspension until further notice of security coverage of the fights throughout the country, following the incidents which occurred during the Franc-Ama Baldé fight on February 16 at the National Arena.
This extension will allow promoters to reschedule canceled fights. However, due to Magal 2025, no wrestling events will take place this weekend in Dakar. The resumption is scheduled for Sunday, August 17, with a gala organized by Ama Dia Productions, Le Soleil reports.
