Lutte sénégalaise : Serigne Mbacké Ndiaye met en garde contre le retour à la fédération
The wrestling federation is expected to replace the CNG next season, with a general assembly scheduled for November 8 to ratify this transition. Serigne Mbacké Ndiaye, a former minister and former presidential spokesperson under Abdoulaye Wade, appeared on Lutte TV and was quoted by the specialist newspaper Record, and expressed strong reservations about this process.
He points out that it was the federation that had led wrestling to bankruptcy in the past, and that it is thanks to the CNG and players like Gaston Mbengue, Abdoulaye Makhtar Diop and Alioune Sarr that the discipline has regained new momentum. He therefore urges the authorities, particularly the supervisory authority Khady Diène Gaye, not to forget the mistakes of the past.
For his part, Souleymane Boun Daouda Diop, who is in charge of the dossier, assures that the fundamentals of the CNG will be maintained or improved, and that the main change will concern governance: the leaders will now be elected rather than appointed by the Minister of Sports.
Promoters, wrestlers, trainers and managers will not have their status called into question.

Dites aux sénégalais que c'est en 1942 que le colon Maurice Jacquin a introduit la frappe dans notre lutte.
Normal que l'enfant sénegalais qui, en grandissant, voit son entourage, lors des combats de lutte à la télé, crier de joie parce qu'un coup de poing a poché l'oeil d'un lutteur, devienne un violent. Même l'étudiant, en principe cultivé, ne se gêne pas de jetter un caillou dans bus bondé de pauvres innocents.
Et le comble, quand un sénégalais a voulu organiser un combat de lutte à Bercy, la Kaaba de toutes nos vedettes, les français ont refusé car, dirent-ils, c'est violent, sanguinaire.
Vous devriez éveiller les consciences, essayer de refaire de la lutte un jeu comme nous le pratiquions.
Mais c'est vrai, tout le monde n'est pas comme Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba, se sacrifier pour le bien de son peuple.
