He is undoubtedly one of the greatest football coaches of recent years. Pep Guardiola, the celebrated Manchester City manager, left the club at the end of this season.

His departure caught some people off guard, as his contract ran until 2027. The Spanish manager is "tired, exhausted" by the intensity of the Premier League.

His daughter Maria reacted to his departure from northwest England.

“We blinked for a second—and just like that, 10 years have passed. 10 seasons. Hundreds of away games, trips to Wembley, too many nights at the Bernabeu, and millions of memories. It’s hard to describe in a few words what we experienced in Manchester,” the 25-year-old wrote on her Instagram account. She praised her father for his victorious journey with the Citizens.

“You have transformed the most prestigious championship in the world. You have celebrated successes and broken records that may never be equaled. And we were lucky enough to witness it up close. Tears of joy and tears of sadness, they all came from football. Seeing you live every second with such intensity made us feel everything with you. Those 90 minutes where the world seems to stop,” the young girl wrote.

 

"Thank you for always allowing us to participate in everything, for including us in everything."

 

She added: “Beyond the trophies, you gave us memories, moments of escape. It was a privilege to watch you grow and to support you for almost 25 years. Thank you for always allowing us to participate in everything, for including us in everything. But the greatest privilege was experiencing all of this by your side.” These words are, in short, a moving tribute from Maria to her father that Manchester City fans will surely miss.

In 10 years, Guardiola won 20 trophies, including 6 English league titles and a Champions League.
