Maroc : le geste sublime d’Hamdallah suite aux inondations meurtrières au Safi

The Moroccan international, who has just won the Arab Cup with his country, has made a great humanitarian gesture to help the populations affected by the severe weather that has ravaged the region.

Abderrazak Hamdallah put his words into action. Moved by the floods that struck the city of Safi, Morocco's main fishing port and considered the "Pearl of the Atlantic," the Moroccan international provided concrete support to families affected by this natural disaster. The striker delivered material aid to meet the most urgent needs: food, mattresses, and blankets, to help the affected households cope with the immediate consequences of the severe weather and the lack of resources for heating and food.

Hamdallah puts an end to the controversy with this gesture

This gesture of solidarity comes after a controversy surrounding the player. Hamdallah had recently faced criticism for his perceived silence after the Arab Cup semi-finals and final regarding the victims of Safi. He had, however, publicly addressed the situation before the semi-final against the United Arab Emirates, expressing his profound sadness. "We share the same grief for the people of Safi. All the players were saddened before this match because our brothers lost their lives. But, praise be to God, it is God's will. We ask God to grant patience and comfort to our families," he told the media.

After Morocco's victory over Jordan in the Arab Cup final, the striker confirmed he had taken action to help those affected by the disaster: "Aid has arrived in Safi from me and some players from the Moroccan national team," he stated at a press conference, demonstrating the collective effort within the squad. Hamdallah also emphasized the values of solidarity inherent in his country. "Praise be to God, we Moroccans are known for our generosity and hospitality, and we support each other in times of crisis," he added.
