Maroc : Mohamed Ouahbi pressenti pour succéder à Walid Regragui
A new chapter is about to begin for the Atlas Lions. After announcing his intention to leave his post following the AFCON defeat at home against Senegal (1-0), Walid Regragui has had his request validated by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, which has made his departure conditional on the identification of a successor.
True to their guiding principles, the Moroccan leaders wish to continue with local expertise to ensure the continuity of the sporting project. In this regard, one name stands out clearly.
According to Foot Mercato, Mohamed Ouahbi is in pole position to take the reins of the national A team. Crowned U20 world champion with Morocco last October, the coach has established himself as a rising star on the Moroccan bench.
If confirmed, Ouahbi will have the weighty task of launching a new cycle at the helm of the Atlas Lions, less than four months before the 2026 World Cup. A major challenge, but also a significant opportunity to permanently establish his mark at the top of Moroccan football.
