Maroc- Nigéria (CAN-2025) : Ce que Victor Osimhen a dit à Eric Chelle avant la séance des tirs au but
It's been almost a month since the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 came to a close, but the key moments of this major African football tournament continue to generate discussion. We all remember the hard-fought semi-final between Morocco and Nigeria, which ended in a penalty shootout. Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles' star striker, wasn't chosen to take part in this nerve-wracking test. This surprised many, as the former Napoli player excels in penalty kicks.
"Victor came to see me. He said: 'Coach, things aren't going well at all.'"
Invited a few days ago on RMC Sport radio, the coach of the Super Eagles, Eric Chelle, revealed the reasons why his centre-forward did not shoot that day.
“Victor came to see me. He said, ‘Coach, this isn’t going well at all. My ankle is hurting.’ I said, ‘Victor, there are penalties.’ He said, ‘No, coach, I can’t.’ I said, ‘Okay,’” the Franco-Malian coach recounted.
The rest is history. Nigeria lost this nerve-wracking contest and was eliminated from the competition.
