Marseille : Habib Bèye contacté pour remplacer Roberto De Zerbi (RMC)
Having been dismissed from his position as manager of Stade Rennais on Monday, Habib Bèye could quickly find a new job. And what a job it would be!
According to RMC Sport, Olympique de Marseille's management greatly admires the Senegalese coach and has contacted him to replace Roberto De Zerbi, whose departure was officially announced on Tuesday night. The French media outlet reports that the initial plan is to finish the season with him before deciding whether he will remain in charge of OM.
For Habib Bèye, managing Marseille would be a dream come true. In an interview with L'Équipe two years ago, the man who spent four years in Marseille (from 2003 to 2007) declared his love for the French club. "If people think I'm aiming for OM, go ahead, say it. (Laughs.) It doesn't bother me at all. But thankfully, if OM contacted me tomorrow, I would go. It's the club that has given me the most emotions, since my childhood. I was its captain," he recalled. "If OM calls me, I'll go running! I have no problem saying it," he said.
To be continued.
