Modou Lô-Sa Thiès : l’étonnante comparaison avec la CAN au Maroc
Sa Thiès reclaimed the King of the Arena crown by defeating Modou Lô last Sunday. The royal battle, whose rights were acquired by Canal+, was broadcast in 48 countries. A great showcase for the sport, and for Senegal. "I congratulate Baye Ndiaye and Beuz Pro, who made this major event possible; they have shown that wrestling can be exported all over the world. Wrestling can benefit tourism, culture, and many other sectors," agreed the president of the Senegalese Wrestling Federation, Bira Sène, in comments reported by Record.
The arena boss became animated: "My fellow federation presidents - two of whom were present - are calling me from everywhere to praise the event. They want me to give them the key to this success."
Bira Sène is all the more enthusiastic because he learned from "people at Canal+ that the audience for the royal fight is second only to that of the Africa Cup of Nations [Morocco 2025]. This is a major achievement for wrestling. The federation will need these figures to present to the authorities. With more work and organization, wrestling could provide Senegal with a very powerful economic lever."
