Mondial 2026 : huit Lions lancent la préparation à Diamniadio
The Senegal national football team has begun its preparations for the 2026 World Cup. The first training session took place this Monday at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium, marking the start of the Lions' training camp.
For this session, only eight of the 28 players called up took part. These were Sadio Mané, Bamba Dieng, Lamine Camara, Chérif Ndiaye, Abdoulaye Seck, Mory Diaw, Krépin Diatta and Moustapha Mbow.
The rest of the group should join the camp in the evening, including the international players still involved this weekend with their respective clubs in the various European leagues.
However, Ismaïla Sarr and Pathé Ciss will travel directly to the United States due to their commitments related to the Europa League Conference final. The same applies to Ibrahim Mbaye, who is expected to arrive after the UEFA Champions League final with Paris Saint-Germain.
The handover of the national flag is scheduled for this Tuesday at the palace in the presence of the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
