Mondial-2026: le Mexique affrontera l'Afrique du Sud en match d'ouverture le 11 juin à Mexico (tirage au sort)
The opening match of the 2026 World Cup will pit Mexico, the top seed in Group A, against South Africa on June 11 in Mexico City's iconic Azteca Stadium, according to the draw held Friday in Washington.
This match had already opened a World Cup, in 2010 in Soweto, the first to be held in Africa, which ended in a 1-1 draw. The 2026 World Cup, which will bring together 48 teams for the first time, will last until July 19, the date of the final scheduled for MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
