Le Maroc déclaré vainqueur devant le Sénégal : La CAF se contredit sur son site officiel
The appeals committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to strip Senegal of the African Champions League title and award it to Morocco by default. This is an administrative decision, far removed from the reality on the pitch.
On the official CAF website, the reality on the ground prevails. Indeed, several hours after this controversial verdict, Seneweb notes that the governing body of African football still considers Senegal to be THE African champion. In its article "Review of AFCON 2025," CAF crowns Senegal as the winner, ahead of Morocco. "Crowned champions after a controlled campaign, Senegal imposed its authority," the article continues.
On its official website, no photos of Senegal's victory have been removed. In the "Review" article, the Lions of Teranga, proudly displaying their title, are still featured, along with a photo of Sadio Mané lifting the trophy within the text. This is a complete contradiction with the statements published in English and French on the official CAF pages.
