Deuil au Paris Saint-Germain : Disparition de la légende tchadienne Nambatingue Toko
The football world is in mourning. Nambatingue Toko, an iconic figure at Paris Saint-Germain in the 1980s, has died at the age of 73. The sad news was announced today by Michel Denisot, former president of the club, via social media.
A former star of the capital club, the Chadian striker wore the Parisian colours for five seasons, between 1980 and 1985. An elegant and efficient player, he entered PSG history forever by scoring, on September 28, 1982 at the Parc des Princes, the club's very first goal in the European Cup against Lokomotiv Sofia.
During his time in Paris, Nambatingue Toko was one of the key figures in the club's first major successes, notably winning two French Cups (1982 and 1983). His name will forever be etched in the memory of the fans as that of a pioneer of the Red and Blue's European adventure.
