Moussa Niakhaté alerte sur l’enchaînement des matches : «Physiquement, ça commence à être dur»
Following a fatigue-ridden match against Paris FC yesterday, Moussa Niakhaté didn't hide his concern about the relentless schedule. Speaking to Ligue 1+, the defender acknowledged that the accumulation of games is starting to take a heavy toll on the players' bodies.
"I don't know if it's a good idea to say this, but I'll be honest. Physically, it's starting to get tough," he confessed frankly.
According to him, this fatigue was felt from the first minutes of yesterday's match against PFC. "We felt it from the start of the match because we wanted to play with intensity. But it was difficult to make the effort," he explained.
The Senegalese defender also justified some of the starting lineup choices, particularly the presence of key players on the bench. "If you saw players like Endrick or Corentin Tolisso on the bench, it's not because we underestimated Paris FC. Quite the opposite, but Ligue 1 remains our priority," he clarified.
For Niakhaté, managing the squad becomes essential in such a busy schedule. "When there are players who can't start the match because they're physically exhausted…," he added, suggesting that the accumulated fatigue forces the staff to make choices to protect certain key players.
This testimony illustrates once again the difficulties faced by players in the face of the intensity and density of the modern football calendar.
