A regular starter for AJ Auxerre this season, Marvin Senaya faces a crucial decision regarding the future of his international career. At 23, the right-back has been called up simultaneously by two national teams: Ghana and Togo.
Ghana coach Otto Addo has included the defender in an extended squad for the friendly matches against Austria and Germany. This first appearance confirms the Black Stars' concrete interest in the former Strasbourg player.
But in parallel, Togo has not remained inactive. Coach Patrice Neveu has also included Senaya in his preliminary squad for his first training camp in charge of the Hawks.

On the Ghanaian side, there is a sense of confidence. The federation's communications officer, Asante Twum, stated that advanced discussions have already taken place with the player. "It would be unprofessional to publish a list without the player's agreement. [...] The federation has spoken with him several times, and he has agreed to represent us."
These are signs that suggest Ghana is in the lead in this matter.
A decisive sporting choice
Beyond the emotional aspect, the sporting argument could carry significant weight. Ghana, having qualified for the next World Cup, offers immediate international exposure. A major advantage for a player on the rise.
Senaya also plays club football alongside two Ghanaian internationals, Elisha Owusu and Gideon Mensah, who could influence his decision.
For its part, Togo is focusing more on a reconstruction project and on the player's family ties.
