Nguekhokh : Reprise des navétanes sous le signe du fair-play

After two years of suspension linked to violence, the navétanes resumed this year in the commune of Nguekhokh, under the seal of tolerance and fraternity, according to Mame Khaly Sarr, president of ASC Espérance.

"The fight I'm leading is zero violence in the stadium. Violence has no place in our competitions. We are brothers and sisters: we share mosques, schools, weddings... So if injuries occur in the stadiums, we will all be responsible," he declared, before calling on all ASCs to play fair.

For several years, Mame Khaly Sarr has supported the Nguekhokh ASCs, notably through the distribution of first aid kits at the beginning of each season and sets of jerseys and sports equipment. This year, he also donated 36 sets of jerseys to the 29 ASCs in the commune as well as to new associations currently being created.

He also thanked the mayor of Nguekhokh, Pape Songho Diouf, for his efforts in enabling the resumption of activities. "With the available resources, he managed to provide the town with a stadium. But much remains to be done. We hope that it will soon be equipped with a synthetic pitch so that, starting next year, we can play in a real gem," he added, calling on people of good will to support this project.

Furthermore, the president of ASC Espérance called on the government and volunteers to address the challenges of the rainy season. "Many homes are under water. I appeal to the authorities and those of goodwill to help those living in these difficult conditions."
