Les capitaines de la Premier League ne porteront plus le brassard arc-en-ciel lors de la saison 2025-2026

After ten years, the English Premier League has ended its collaboration with Stonewall and its "Rainbow Laces" campaign. This means that English Premier League captains will no longer wear the rainbow armband during the upcoming season.

The rainbow armband has been worn by Premier League captains since 2014. They were worn, along with colored laces, as part of Stonewall's "Rainbow Laces" campaign. However, the league and the LGBTQ+ rights charity have now ended their collaboration.

Instead, the Premier League, which says it wants to "rely on its internal expertise," will launch an in-house campaign starting in February, during LGBTQ+ History Month. The goal would remain the same: to combat all forms of discrimination.

Over the past ten years, the rainbow armband has been the subject of numerous debates. For example, last season, Ipswich captain Sam Morsy refused to wear it for religious reasons, and a few days later, Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi wrote "Jesus loves you" on the armband, even though the English Football Association prohibits any religious messages.
