Premier League saison 2025-2026 : Les huit Lions prêts à rugir en Angleterre

The 2025-26 Premier League season kicks off this weekend with a strong Senegalese presence. No fewer than eight Lions will take to the pitch in England, each with their own unique ambitions and challenges.

At Everton, the experienced Idrissa Gana Gueye (36 years old) will be a key player in midfield. Having had a solid season last year, the Senegalese midfielder will be tasked with bringing his experience and discipline to the table. On the offensive side, Iliman Ndiaye will need to be decisive in leading the Toffees' attack. The 25-year-old striker is looking to build on his performances from last season.

The English capital promises all-Senegalese duels. For Tottenham, Pape Matar Sarr will be looking to build on last season's superb performance, which included a Europa League victory. Opposite, newcomer El Hadji Malick Diouf, signed by West Ham for €20 million, will be keen to justify the Hammers' investment. The 20-year-old left-back, who is already making a splash in friendlies, could be the revelation of the season.

Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea remains uncertain. Announced to be leaving, the Senegalese international striker, criticized by some in the English press, will have to prove to the Blues or Newcastle, where it is expected that he can be a reliable goalscorer at the highest level.

Having been on loan several times, Abdallah Sima could finally settle permanently at Brighton. If the striker stays, he will have to prove that he has the qualities to make his mark in the Premier League.

One of the new Senegalese faces in the championship is at Sunderland, promoted this season. Habib Diarra, courted by several clubs, has chosen to take on this challenge. An ambitious young midfielder, he is already aiming for a future at a major European club. Along with El Hadji Malick Diouf, he will be one of the two most anticipated Senegalese players in the English championship.

Finally, at Crystal Palace, Ismaïla Sarr remains the number one attacking weapon. Winner of the FA Cup and the Community Shield, the Senegalese winger will once again be expected to fly the Eagles' flag, both in the Premier League and in Europe.

With these eight representatives, Senegal confirms its massive presence in the English elite, and this season promises to be rich in challenges, rivalries and, hopefully, exploits for the Senegalese internationals.
