Préparation Coupe du monde 2026: le Brésil s’impose face à l’Égypte
Six days before their World Cup opener against Morocco, Brazil faced Egypt in a friendly match on Saturday. Still without Neymar Jr., the Seleção managed to secure a 2-1 victory against Mohamed Salah's teammates, with Salah coming on as a substitute in the 46th minute.
The Brazilians quickly opened the scoring thanks to Bruno Guimarães, who capitalized on a major error by midfielder Mohamed Lazheen to beat Egyptian goalkeeper Mostafa Ahmed Shobeir in the 7th minute. But the Pharaohs responded swiftly. Four minutes later, Mostafa Ziko took advantage of a poor pass from Marquinhos to level the score (11th minute).
The match was well underway. Dominant throughout, Brazil nevertheless encountered an excellent Mostafa Ahmed Shobeir, who made several crucial saves. However, early in the second half, the Egyptian goalkeeper was helpless against a cutback from Raphinha, which Endrick powerfully converted (52nd minute).
Thanks to this goal from the Olympique Lyonnais striker, Brazil prevailed against an Egyptian team that had shown great resistance before the start of the World Cup.
