PSG: Avant Liverpool, Achraf Hakimi clame haut son innocence

In a pre-match press conference for the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Liverpool, PSG right-back Achraf Hakimi was questioned on Monday about his referral to trial for rape, for which his lawyer has appealed.

When questioned on Monday about being sent to trial for the rape of a young woman in February 2023, Achraf Hakimi maintained that the accusation was "false" and that he was leaving the matter in the hands of "his lawyers and the justice system." As the trial approaches, the Paris Saint-Germain defender spoke to the press. The alleged events date back to 2023.

According to the complainant's statement, the 2025 African Footballer of the Year allegedly behaved inappropriately and sexually assaulted her at her home. At the end of February, Hakimi was ordered to stand trial on the accusation of raping the young woman in question. However, the two accounts differ, as the two parties disagree on how their evening unfolded.

While the complainant alleges digital penetration, Hakimi points to consensual kisses and a caress "on her lower back with her consent." Present at a press conference this Monday, Ousmane Dembélé's teammate appeared calm regarding the matter.

“I know this accusation is false. I feel calm, I’m focused on the rest of the season. I’ll let my lawyers and the justice system do their work,” Achraf Hakimi commented calmly before facing Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday evening in the Champions League quarter-final second leg. No trial date has yet been announced by the criminal court.

"A trial is ordered in the presence of an accusation that rests solely on the word of a woman who obstructed all investigations, who refused all medical examinations and DNA tests, who refused to allow the use of her mobile phone, who refused to give the name of a key witness," reacted Fanny Colin, the lawyer for the 27-year-old Moroccan star.
