FIFA has changed the schedule for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers for Group B. To align the schedule and avoid any guesswork, the Togo-DR Congo match, originally scheduled for 4:00 PM GMT on October 10, has been moved forward to 1:00 PM GMT, the exact time of the South Sudan-Senegal match in Juba.
The Daily, which relayed the information, emphasized that this decision, while facilitating broadcasting, will force teams to play under a scorching sun. The coaching staff will therefore have to adapt the players' physical and nutritional preparation to this constraint.
This ninth matchday is decisive for the Lions of Senegal, current leaders of Group B. A victory in Juba could potentially secure their qualification for the 2026 World Cup, provided that the Leopards of DR Congo do not win against the Hawks of Togo.
