By winning their sixth consecutive Group E match, Morocco has qualified for the 2026 World Cup. The Atlas Lions, who crushed Niger 5-0, are the first to qualify for the World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
In Group A, Egypt beat Ethiopia (2-0). This victory allows the Pharaohs (1st, 19 pts) to consolidate their first place with a five-point lead over Burkina Faso (2nd, 14 pts).
In Group F, Ivory Coast dethroned Gabon. The reigning African champions, who beat Burundi 1-0 thanks to an early goal from Vakoun Bayo (3rd), now have a one-point lead over the Panthers, whom they will face on September 9 in Libreville for a decisive clash.
Finally, in Senegal's group, Mauritania recorded its first victory by defeating Togo (2-0). The Mourabitounes, who have five points, can no longer claim qualification.
