Quarts de finale Coupe du Sénégal : UGB et Pout créent la sensation
The first two quarter-final matches of the Senegal Cup were played this Wednesday. They were marked by the qualifications of Université Sporting Club (UGB) of Saint-Louis and Pout Sporting Club.
At the Mawade Wade Stadium, UGB caused a sensation by eliminating US Gorée (1-1, 3-1 on penalties). Facing the second-placed team in Ligue 1, the students opened the scoring in the 3rd minute through Ndiaye Lo. Despite Gorée's equalizer in the dying moments of the match (89th minute), the student club, playing in National 1 (third division), managed to prevail in the penalty shootout (3-1).
The other surprise came from the Ngor Municipal Stadium, where Pout SC, playing in the regional championship (5th division), eliminated Oslo FA, a Ligue 2 side (0-0, 3-1 on penalties). After 90 hard-fought minutes, Pout SC proved more clinical, scoring three penalties to Oslo's one.
The last two quarter-finals will be played this Thursday. Casa Sports will host EJ Fatick, while Teungueth FC will host Diambars.
