Racisme: accusé de racisme, Prestianni (Benfica) suspendu par l'UEFA !
Accused of racism by Vinicius Junior during Benfica's 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid in Tuesday's Champions League playoff first leg, winger Gianluca Prestianni will miss Wednesday's return leg at the Santiago Bernabéu. Pending the outcome of the investigation, the young Argentine talent has been provisionally suspended by UEFA, according to an official statement released on Monday.
"Following the appointment of a UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector to investigate allegations of discriminatory behavior during the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League play-off match between SL Benfica and Real Madrid CF on 17 February 2026, and at the request of the EDI in an interim report, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body has decided today to provisionally suspend Mr. Gianluca Prestianni from the next UEFA club competition match for which he would otherwise be eligible, for breaching Article 14 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations relating to discriminatory behavior. This decision does not invalidate any sanctions that may be imposed subsequently, following the conclusion of the ongoing investigation and its respective presentation to the UEFA disciplinary bodies," the document reads.
