RDC-Sénégal : si les Lions veulent gagner, ils doivent suivre les conseils de ces deux coachs
Senegal will face the DRC at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa this Tuesday for the 8th day of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. The Lions (2nd, 15 pts) and Leopards (1st, 16 pts) will play the Group B final, at the end of which the winner will have a serious option to validate their ticket to the American World Cup.
To bring back the three from their trip to the Congolese capital, Pape Thiaw's team will have to raise their level of play compared to that produced during the 2-0 victory over Sudan last Friday at the Abdoulaye-Wade stadium in Diamniadio. This is the opinion of the Sudanese national team coach, James Appiah, shared by Amara Traoré. "We obviously need to improve our level of play between the two matches," agreed the former Lions coach, in an interview published this Monday in Record.
The Senegalese coach added: "In Kinshasa, we must avoid doubling up on passes as much as possible. Instead, we must encourage vertical play in a progressive or direct manner, put a lot of intensity into the runs and be aggressive on the ball carrier."
Amara Traoré remains optimistic. According to him, Sadio Mané and Co. have the resources they need to implement his recipe: "We are equipped for this match." Moreover, he emphasizes, "in this match, the pressure will be on the DR Congo." "However, we will have to be patient and not sabotage ourselves," recommends the Saint-Louis coach. […] The boys will be there at the Stade des Martyrs. They know what awaits them and they are capable of raising their level of play."
