Real Madrid : Riquelme et Raul rêvent déjà de Klopp
What if the next big announcement from Real Madrid came from the sidelines, rather than the transfer market?
Just hours before a presidential election that looks set to be close, Enrique Riquelme has made yet another promise. After Erling Haaland (a commitment immediately denied by Manchester City and the Norwegian's entourage), the candidate is now targeting Jürgen Klopp. This initiative comes from Riquelme, or rather, from his likely future sporting director, Raul.
The scenario is clear: victory on Sunday, and the former Madrid star will call the German coach first thing Monday morning. Without a prior agreement, however. Riquelme is well aware of this, knowing Klopp is reluctant to return to management. "There are great clubs, but there's only one Real Madrid," he stated in a press release, convinced that the German would bring back intensity, daily high standards, and dressing room cohesion. A well-rehearsed pitch. Or almost.
Meanwhile, the opposing side is making its moves. Florentino Perez, for his part, has already made his decision: it will be José Mourinho if he is re-elected. Two big names, two projects, one single job. The saga continues, and believe us, the Real Madrid dressing room will be talking about it for a while.
