Recours du Sénégal devant le TAS : une décision rapide est possible si…
At a press conference held Thursday in Paris, lawyers for the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) provided insights into the ongoing proceedings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which is considering an appeal against a decision by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) related to the final of the 2025 AFCON.
According to the FSF's advice, a typical arbitration procedure before the CAS generally lasts between nine and twelve months. This is a standard timeframe for this type of dispute, which is often complex and involves multiple parties.
However, this case could move more quickly. Lawyers indicate that an expedited procedure remains possible, provided all parties involved, particularly CAF and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, agree. In that case, a decision could be reached within approximately two months.
Such a scenario would allow for a swift resolution to a particularly sensitive issue, which is already generating strong reactions within the African football community. A rapid decision could enable Senegal to better prepare for the 2026 World Cup.
