Carton rouge de Yves Bissouma : L’avis du consultant malien Fousseini Diawara
Shortly before halftime against Senegal, Yves Bissouma received a second yellow card, resulting in a red card. Speaking on Canal Plus, the former Malian player, now a pundit, felt there was no argument; the referee made the right decision.
"The red card is quite logical. Firstly, there's nothing to say about the first one. Bissouma's handball on Sadio Mané's face could even have warranted a red card. Secondly, knowing he already had a yellow card, he shouldn't have made that gesture. We've talked about the importance of maturity during this match on the Malian side, and he didn't demonstrate it on this play. He should have restrained himself," the pundit commented to Canal Plus.
This is Mali's third red card in five matches. Against Tunisia, the Eagles were sent off after 26 minutes of play, which did not prevent them from going to penalties and winning the match.
