Retard des primes FIFA et CAF : le Sénégal, champion d’Afrique et qualifié au Mondial 2026, attend ses 11 milliards F CFA
Having won the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and qualified for the 2026 World Cup, Senegal has yet to receive the bonuses promised by FIFA and CAF. According to estimates by wiwsport, relayed by the newspaper Libération, the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) is expecting approximately €8.2 million (5.4 billion CFA francs) for World Cup qualification and nearly $10 million (6 billion CFA francs) for the continental title.
While awaiting this financial lifeline of over 11 billion FCFA, the new management team, faced with an inherited deficit, had to mobilize internal resources. The last three matches before the Africa Cup of Nations generated nearly 600 million FCFA, thanks to an aggressive ticketing strategy and the renegotiation of partnerships.
The president of the FSF, quoted by the daily newspaper, sought to clarify the situation in light of the expectations of service providers and football stakeholders: "As soon as the resources are available, we will do everything to honor our commitments."
Mr. Augustin Senghor's successor emphasizes that it was essential for the public to understand that, despite the trophies, current resources remain insufficient to cover all federal activities.
