Samuel Eto’o , arrogant ? : La réponse cash de Yaya Touré
They know each other well from having played together at FC Barcelona. Yaya Touré and Samuel Eto'o were part of that Catalan team that won everything in Spain and Europe in 2009. Having played alongside the Cameroonian, the Ivorian finds it difficult to accept all the things said about him.
For example, he does not approve of being called arrogant. "When I hear people talk about Samuel as a young man who is rebellious, who has a temper, someone who is arrogant, I think it's quite the opposite," said Yaya Touré during a recent appearance on a YouTube channel.
"Real Madrid's philosophy wasn't about young players. It was about established players."
Many people are unaware of the difficulties Samuel experienced at the very beginning of his career, particularly at Real Madrid where he never got his chance, often loaned out by the White House, despite all the heart he put into his work.
“Over there, he was like a third or fourth- choice striker. He knew he was never going to play. Real Madrid’s philosophy wasn’t about young players. They were about established players,” said Yaya Touré. He believes these difficulties forged the character of the Cameroonian who later rose to fame with FC Barcelona.
