Sénégal-Botswana : la mesure radicale de Pape Thiaw
The Lions' training ground is tightly sealed off from outsiders. Since the Lions arrived in Tangier, their base camp for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, last Friday evening, their training sessions have been held behind closed doors. Even journalists are kept at a distance.
Record, which broke the story, reports that the only images showing Sadio Mané and his teammates sweating profusely are from Saturday's training session. These images, the newspaper specifies, are available on the Facebook page of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF).
The sports daily reports that the only concession made by national team coach Pape Thiaw is to allow the press to observe his team's training session this Monday, the day before their opening match against Botswana in the competition. "The media will only be allowed 15 minutes," Record reports. The paper recalls that when announcing his squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, the coach had warned: "The Ministry of Sports and the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) have taken measures: we will secure and fortify the area. It's for the good of the team."
