Senegal Cup semi-finals: Diambars qualify for the final after a hard-fought battle

Pout Sporting Club's adventure ends in the semi-finals. This Wednesday, at the Maniang Soumaré stadium, the fifth-division club was eliminated by Diambars FC.

However, Pout SC had made an ideal start to the match, opening the scoring through Cheikh Ciss in the 2nd minute. But carried away by euphoria and betrayed by their lack of experience, the Thiès club made mistakes that were immediately exploited by the Academicians. The latter scored two goals in quick succession thanks to a brace from Yankhoba Diallo (8th and 15th minutes).

In the second half, Diambars, more composed in their play, managed to score a third goal in the 67th minute.

Urged on by their many supporters, Pout SC managed to reduce the deficit (79th minute). In the final minutes, despite intense pressure from the home side, Diambars held on to their lead (3-2) and secured their place in the Senegalese Cup final.

Saly's club will face the winner of the second semi-final between Université Sporting club de Saint-Louis and Casa Sports.
